Growing up in rural eastern North Carolina, Renea always knew she wanted to work in the medical field. She took the first step in 1998 when she started working as a Certified Medical Assistant at a local OB/GYN practice. In 2001, she became a Registered Nurse and worked for nine years in several areas, including emergency medicine, urgent care, long term care, and medical-surgical nursing. Renea was certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in 2010 and immediately started working in rural health. In 2015, she opened Inner Banks Family Medicine, which became a part of Martin General Hospital in 2019. Inner Banks Family Medicine changed its name to Roanoke Clinics in 2021.
Renea manages chronic disease processes, acute sick visits for anyone six months and older, gynecologic and wellness exams, as well as minor procedures, such as suturing, foreign body and skin tag removals, and DOT Commercial Driver License physicals.
